• To collect folk art (digital pictures, recording, documentation, videotaping…) in major areas around the Yellow River
• To collect the various types of folk operas in these areas: 蒲剧，豫剧, 信天游. 还有秦腔and represent them in multimedia format: websites, video clips with annotations, creating CD or DVD of the Classic segments
• All these can be used in teaching Chinese, to a variety of audience: K-12 to College students, heritage Chinese students in the U.S. and other countries, other Chinese learners from many different parts of the world.
• Materials will be stored in the Digital Media Archive, an online collection of teaching materials developed by SDSU’s Language Acquisition Resource Center. DMA has been around for a few years and it is a know resource for language and culture studies. See: http://larc.sdsu.edu/dma/
